Ferronordic Machines appoints Lars Corneliusson as senior vice-president, operational director and partner

01 Jan 2012

Over the past 12 years, Lars Corneliusson has headed the CJSC Volvo Vostok and the Volvo Truck Corporation in Russia as CEO and has helped establish these companies as leaders in the sales of heavy-duty haulers in the foreign brands segment. Under Lars’ leadership, Volvo became the first western manufacturer to build a full-scale hauler production facility in Russia. Within the auto and machine building industry, Lars is recognised as an authority both in Russia and in Sweden. With its range of haulers and road-construction machinery, Volvo has a particularly strong manufacturing presence in Russia. This is a unique situation for Volvo worldwide.

Lars Corneliusson was born in Sweden in 1967. Prior to working for Volvo, Lars headed the Russian operations of the Swedish consulting company Hifab, in close cooperation with the World Bank. Lars has a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) awarded by the University of Uppsala.

“This is an extremely valuable acquisition for the company. It completes the formation of one of the best management teams in the sector” Erik Eberhardson, company managing director and controlling shareholder.

Mr. Corneliusson was also ready to comment on his appointment: “I’m very much looking forward to the task awaiting me. There is little doubt that Ferronordic has a bright future ahead of it. I am impressed by what the management team has been able to achieve in such a short time and I hope that I’ll be able to bring my experience to bear in support of the project”.

Ferronordic Machines acquired the assets and operations of the Volvo Construction Equipment company from CJSC Volvo Vostok in May 2010. The company’s corporate strategy is the development of its presence on the Russian market. It is defined by the enormous potential of the Russian economy and, to a lesser extent, by the amount of construction and infrastructure development work needed.
